Technical SEO

NO AI WAS USED IN THE CREATION OF THIS

Updated 4/2/2024

Technical SEO is crucial for search engines to properly access, traverse, and understand websites and it's content.

My approach to technical SEO is about assisting search in digesting your website through optimizing HTML elements, code improvements, performance and interlinking to help aid in crawlability.

While technical SEO is normally considered to cater towards search engines, I also think of it in terms of accessibility.

Similar to why websites want to be accessible to users with a disability, it's important to be comprehensive when it comes to marking up your site with code, including alt tags, title tags, HTML elements, and interlinking opportunities.

The same methods you would execute for accessibility you should be doing for search. It's all about making your website available to all audiences, including both humans and search engines.

The most important part of technical SEO is prioritizing all of the opportunities that most sites likely have, which is something that takes experience to help understand what is important, and what is not.

There are a lot of really really good SEOs out there that make technical SEO their jam, and I've worked with a lot of them. Most of them work with experimentation now, but luckily a lot of the really in-depth technical SEO can be identified for most modern CMSs these days, and opportunities to improve can be simply turned into tickets for kanban boards :)
